Shared office space by its very name implies the sharing of an available area by various individuals or organizations. The main difference is that regular office space is shared by different individuals from the same organization i.e. the professional goals are the same. In shared offices, the professional goals are different. However contrary to what is expected, shared office for rent can bring about a lot of benefits to new start-ups, through mutual help and references.
The timings of the offices may vary and the same space will be shared by different individuals at different times. This may be due to the nature of the work profile requirement. To take an example, a scriptwriter may prefer a closed compact cabin to work undisturbed but a creative ad director may prefer a common zone area to get inspired by infusion of ideas. The office design may be a combination of different work style tastes.

Types of Space Sharing
• The most common is the Coworking office spaces. These are offices having different designs like common alley areas, distanced or close cubicles, workstations, long sofas, cabins with or without partitions etc. Other facilities like cafeteria, pantry, entertainment, are present similar to any commercial set up. There can be shared offices with just good seating arrangements but without food or relaxation areas.
• The second option is shared working spaces which is almost similar to the co-working spaces in most of the aspects. The only difference is that the other facilities and amenities are more advanced here as compared to the former. In fact, some of the shared workspaces have full-fledged housekeeping divisions, entertainment zones, gyms, multiple food courts.
• There is also the concept of virtual office which provides a point of address for presence recognition but does not use any actual physical space. It makes optimal use of internet and video conferencing technologies to communicate.
